Biography
German sculptor who created numerous stone and bronze works in Stuttgart, including monumental busts, reliefs and larger-than-life figures.
He attended the Stuttgart art school, where he was a student of Bernhard Neher and Theodor Wagner. From 1874 he studied at the Dresden Art Academy with Ernst Hähnel. Two years later he became an assistant in Adolf von Donndorf's studio in Stuttgart. He died on 19 February 1924 in Stuttgart at age 70.
