Biography
Belgian zoologist, paleontologist and anthropologist, who searched numerous caves, including the Lyell cave at Engihoul, from which he extracted animal bones and flint axes, and that of Spy where he discovered with the archaeologist Marcel De Puydt and the geologist Max Lohest three Neanderthal skeletons.
He was rector of the University of Liège. He is the father of Charles Fraipont.
He died in Liège on 22 March 1910, aged 52.
