Biography
French actress, the mistress and later wife of noted French writer Alexandre Dumas. Through this marriage she was known as Marguerite Joséphine Dumas.
She appeared at 'Théâtre Montparnasse' (1830-1831) and 'l'Opéra-Comique' (1831), played Angele at 'Porte Saint-Martin' (1833), starred at the 'Palais Royale' (1836), then played Stella in Dumas' "Caligula" (1837).
She also appeared in Dumas' "Bathilde" (1839) and his "l'Alchimiste."
Ferrier married Dumas in a civil ceremony in Paris on 1 February 1840 (followed by a church wedding on 5 February) and they separated in 1846.
She died in Gênes on 11 March 1859, aged 47.
