Nilda Fernandez (Daniel Fernández, born in Barcelona October 25, 1957) is a singer-songwriter French and Spanish.
Protestant Andalusian family, young Daniel arrived in France at the age of 7 years, but continued his studies in Spain, where he works flamenco. After teaching Spanish for a year in Barentin, he sings in small venues around Lyon and Toulouse. In the 1970s, Daniel (before Nilda) is singing tours with his first group, "Reflections", consisting of several musicians, including his sister. His message hired singer and her voice already left stripes on his audience. Several 45 and 33 rpm, cassettes repeated the songs of the group. His second album, in 1987, revealed his androgynous voice, and a title that will be taken over by Miguel Bosé, "Madrid, Madrid." This is his 1991 album that brought him fame with the success of "Our Engagement". He was elected Best Male Newcomer for a Grammy in 1992, and the album received the Grand Prize of the Académie Charles Cros. In 1993, his songs "Sinfanaï retu" and "Mary Magdalene" are welcome. In 1994, he moved to a series of recitals in Argentina where he sang a duet with Mercedes Sosa. He published a novel, It leaves for a soliloquy in 1995. Between 1996 and 1998, he made his touring caravan. He participated in the album of Sam Mangwana. His album of 1999, Castelar 704, set to music poems by Federico García Lorca, with Spanish guitarists, Paco Ibáñez after. After paying tribute to Gérard Manset in 1996 in a collective album, in 1999 he took the titles of its French and Francophone singers fetishes: Léo Ferré, Barbara, Dutronc, Polnareff, Jane Birkin, Annegarn on the album My respects.
After Best of 2000 and a departure for Russia, Nilda Fernandez seems to have disappeared from the French scene, with the exception of a few passages flash and a duet with the Dorval group. In 2006, he took a concert tour in France while passing by Cuba, Belgium, Moscow and Switzerland.
March 1, 2007, release of his second book, The Songs of the world notebook, published in France in the Renaissance Press. That same year is distributed the Best Of album vol.2 19 tracks, including 3 new interpreted in Russian.
Nilda Fernandez participates in 2009 at the Rock opera Anne de Bretagne, Nantes Alan Simon, along with Tri Yann, Fairport Convention ... He interprets the roles of Ferdinand, King of Aragon and Amerigo.
In 2010 he made a comeback in France with his new album Ti Amo.
