Biography
Alsatian doctor who played a leading role in defending the French cultural tradition in Alsace.
He was a member of the Saint-Léonard circle, became editor-in-chief of the Revue Alsacienne illustrée, published numerous articles and, together with Pierre Bucher, his younger brother Léon Dollinger and many others, was one of the founders of the Alsatian Museum.
In 1912 he took refuge in Switzerland and was deprived of his nationality by the German administration.
After 1919 he presided over the Society of Friends of the University.
