Biography
Italian cardio surgeon, among the pioneers of Cardiac Surgery in Italy, who set up a Cardiac Surgery Center in Turin, headed by Alfred Blalock, and contributed to refining the application of the heart-lung for artificial extracorporeal circulation (he was among the first in the world to use this technique).
Not only known for controlled hypothermia and original cardiovascular techniques, Dogliotti also made important contributions to blood transfusion, anesthesia, abdominal surgery and cancer care.
He died in Turin on 2 June 1966, aged 68.
