Biography
Belgian businessman, one of the seven children of Louis J. Delhaize and Mathilde Stainier. When his father died in 1897, he and his brother Achille took over the management of the family business. Their brother Georges joined them a year later. In 1906, René left the head of the company to settle in France but he remained, like his mother and his seven brothers and sisters, one of the shareholders of the Louis Delhaiz firm when it was incorporated as an SA on 7 January 1908. A little less than two years later, Georges left Rensart to settle in the North of France, while Achilles remained at the head of the parent company. René died on an unknown date.
