Member of the Spanish Royal Family and Infante of Spain despite patrilineal descent of the kings of the Two Sicilies. He was the grandson of Alfonso XII of Spain matrilineal. Ferdinand de Bourbon was born in the Royal Palace of Madrid in 1903 during the regency of his grandmother, Queen Maria Cristina, on behalf of her son, Alfonso XIII, the uncle Fernando little seasoning. His father was the Infante Don Carlos de Borbon and his mother Maria de las Mercedes, Princess of Asturias as Alfonso XIII did not have succession. During a summer vacation in the Royal Palace of Miramar, in the Basque city of San Sebastian, the little infant Fernando fell ill, and after suffering seizures, died suddenly on 4 August 1905 with just two years old.
