Biography
Scottish soldier and autobiographer, he served in the ranks of the Scots Greys (a cavalry regiment of the British Army), and co-wrote his life story, Scarlet Fever, a Lifetime with Horses (1972) with Ivor Herbert. He served in India, South Africa, and Flanders (WWI), and later lived in Canada. He was awarded the Military Medal for his service.
