Biography
American politician and attorney, a United States Senator from Texas. Elected in 2013, he is the first Cuban-American or Latino to hold the office. Cruz is a member of the Republican Party, with right-wing Tea Party politics.
He was born in Canada to US-American mother and Cuban father. In August 2013, after the Dallas Morning News pointed out that Cruz had dual Canadian-American citizenship, he renounced his Canadian citizenship and on 14 May 2014, the renouncement became official, ending his Canadian citizenship.
