Biography
French doctor specializing in the kidneys and thermal medicine, who discovered the cure for diuresis.
Interned at the Necker Hospital under the direction of Félix Guyon, the father of French urology, he devoted his thesis to bacteriological research on periurethral suppurations and obtained his doctorate in medicine in 1899.
With his knowledge of urology, he settled in Evian-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie) in 1899, where he quickly acquired a great reputation. He became president of the Evian Medical Society, vice-president of the Society of Hydrology and Climatology of Paris and, from 4 February 1941, a corresponding member of the Academy of Medicine.
He died on 3 December 1959 in Paris, aged 88.
