Biography
French middle-distance athlete during the early twentieth century who specialized in the 2500 m steeplechase. He was born in Lorient. He participated in Athletics at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris and won the Bronze medal in the 2500 m event. He also won the silver medal in the 5000 m team race for the French distance team, as well as taking fourth place in the 4000 m steeplechase. Jean Chastanié died on 14 April 1948 at age 72.
