Biography
Peruvian painter of the indigenous movement. He was born in the bosom of a family of Anglo-Hispanic Lima oligarchy with important Swedish ancestors, Scots and Italians. In early 1960 he began suffering severe pain in his head and after being examined was discovered a malignant tumor in the frontal region of the brain. He died in Lima on 15 July 1960 of a brain hemorrhage during surgery.
