Biography
Costa Rican politician. During the government of his brother Rafael Angel Calderon Guardia he was Secretary of Interior and annexed portfolios (1940-1942) and Public Security (1942-1944) and Third Designated to the Presidency (1940-1944). He was in charge temporarily of the Executive from 1 to 5 December 1941, for travel to Nicaragua holder. Later he was first in line to the presidency (1944-1948). At the end of the civil war in 1948 he went with his brother to Nicaragua and then to Mexico, where he returned to Costa Rica in 1958. He was deputy from 1958 to 1962.
He died on 16 July 1977.
