Biography
Flemish professor of bacteriology at the Catholic University of Leuven, founder and head of the Leuvens Bacterial Institute, editor of the Revue Médicale de Louvain, and acting mayor of Leuven during the German occupation from 1940 to 1944. He died in Leuven on 26 March 1957, aged 75.
