Biography
French trade unionist, who served as the chairman of the French Confederation of Christian Workers (French: Confédération française des travailleurs chrétiens, CFTC) - one of the five major French confederations of trade unions, belonging to the social Christian tradition.
He served as deputy general secretary of the CFTC from 1964, became general secretary in 1970 and then president in 1981. He left that post in 1990 after nine years in office.
He died on 28 August 1996.
