Biography
German economist, diplomat and a descendant of a Jewish banker family, who had a high international reputation until his emigration from Germany in 1933. Bonn was financial advisor to many Reich governments during the Weimar Republic, and he represented Germany as an ambassador at international conferences. As an author, he was able to place editorials in the Frankfurter and Vossische Zeitung as well as in the Berliner Tageblatt. With the exception of Kurt von Schleicher, Bonn knew all the chancellors of the Weimar imperial governments. He died on 25 January 1965 in London, aged 91.
