French perfumer and entrepreneur, a contemporary of Ernest Beaux. He began his career as a chemical engineer, and later as president of the House of Houbigant he built a soap factory in Puteaux. In the mid 1930s he launched his own company, Parfums Bienaimé SA, as well as Robel Beauty Products. In 1935, he launched five fragrances, including Éveil, Fleurs d’Été, La Vie en Fleurs and Vermeil. His last compositions came out in 1949, namely Jours Heureux and Enfin seuls. Robert Bienaimé died on 12 October 1960, aged 84, in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
