Biography
Italian pharmacologist and chemist of great renown; professor at the universities of Cagliari, Camerino, Messina and Genoa; and a colleague and friend of Pietro Ferrari.
He was the author of numerous studies involving the metabolism of ketone bodies and adrenaline.
Benedicenti is among the first scholars to use chemical and physical-chemical methods for studying human physiology.
He died in Villafranca in Lunigiana on 2 February 1961, aged 94.
