Biography
Mexican alleged drug lord and leader of the Gulf Cartel, who was arrested by Mexican police at a ranch near the Mexican border city of Reynosa on his birthday, 20 May 2011. The police also arrested Romeo Eduardo Mejía González, brother of Juan Reyes, R1, and Sergio Guerra Castañón, and netted an assault rifle and three pistols. Barragan Balderas is wanted by the DEA on drug trafficking charges in the United States under a 2008 indictment.
