Biography
American basketball player, a 6'4" (1.93 m) forward/guard who played professionally in the NBA for the Chicago Stags (1949-1950), Indianapolis Olympians (1950-1953), Baltimore Bullets (1953-1954) and Fort Wayne Pistons (1954). Barnhorst appeared in two NBA All-Star Games (1952, 1953) and scored 3,232 career points.
After attending Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Barnhorst played four seasons at Notre Dame University, where he was an honorable mention All-American.
Barnhorst was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980. He died on 25 August 2000, aged 76.
