Biography
Intellectual, academic, businessman and liberal politician from Guatemala, he was a Mechanical Engineer and is the founder of the Center for Economic and Social Studies (CEES), Francisco Marroquin University -UFM- and institutions dedicated to the spread of Classical Liberalism. Also it is known as the Muso. During the last years of his life he promoted a part of the Constitution of Guatemala through the Civic Association ProReforma reform. The aim was to strengthen the rule of law and respect for individual rights in the country. In life he was considered one of the most influential liberal in Latin America. He died at the age of 84 years of lung cancer on 4 August 2010.
