Biography
Italian zoologist and biologist, and one of the pioneers of modern research on sex determination and sexual variability in hermaphrodites. He was also recognized worldwide as a specialist in isopod crustaceans.
In 1923 he was Professor of Zoology at the University of Sassari, then in 1926 at the University of Bari, a city where he was Prefect of the Botanical Garden.
In 1930 he won the Zoology Chair at the University of Turin, where he settled permanently.
He died in Turin on 28 April 1965.
