Biography
French stage actress who occasionally appeared in cinema. She was the wife of the writer Georges Duhamel.
Albane was a theatre actress when, in 1907, she met Duhamel at the Abbey of Créteil, where she had come to recite poetry verses. At the Odeon Theatre, she married him on 2 December 1909, and had three sons Bernard (in 1917), Jean (in 1919) and Antoine Duhamel (in 1925). She then became an interpreter of her husband's plays, such as La Lumière, L'ombre des statues, Le Combat, L'Œuvre des athlètes, and was later directed by Jacques Copeau at the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier. She also took part in the beginnings of cinema in a few roles at the turn of the 1910s.
She died on 4 May 1975 in Hérouville, Val-d'Oise, France.
