Biography
Pseudonym Ramon Rafael de la Fuente Benavides, Peruvian poet, whose work stands out for its secrecy and depth. Considered one of the great representatives of the Latin American avant-garde literature.
In 1919 his younger brother and he contracted scarlet fever, Rafael underwent surgery and survived but the brother died, a fact that affection all his life. From a young age he showed literary talents, participating in various groups and collaborating with the "Mercurio Peruano" and "Amauta" by Jose Carlos Mariategui. As time went on, he lived with growing economic hardship and suffering from a sharp alcoholism. Much of his later years were spent in sanatoriums, until cardiac arrest due to death during surgery for kidney problems, at 10:45 on 29 January 1985.
